James Guy (Australian politician)

James Guy (13 November 1860 – 23 August 1921) was an Australian politician. Born in Tasmania, he received a primary education before becoming a blacksmith. He was a founding member and secretary of the Tasmanian Workers' Political League, which later became the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Labor Party. He was a member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly for Bass from 1909 to 1913 representing the Labor Party.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Tasmanian Parliamentary Profile - James Guy )〕 In 1914, he was elected to the Australian Senate, holding the seat until 1920. He died in 1921. His son, Allan Guy, later became a member of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
